Job Description:

Join a leading tiling services company in Forest Lake, QLD, as an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler. This is a full-time role with an annual salary set at $75,000 plus superannuation.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure and mark surfaces to lay out the work accurately.
  • Prepare wall and floor surfaces for tiling by removing old tiles, grout, and adhesive.
  • Fulfill holes and cracks to ensure a smooth base for new tiles.
  • Spread adhesive evenly on prepared surfaces using the appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Place tiles on adhesive-covered surfaces, carefully aligning them according to the layout plan.
  • Position tiles correctly, ensuring they are level and evenly spaced.
  • Cut and shape tiles precisely to fit edges, corners, and around obstacles like fittings and pipes.
  • Payanention to tile alignment and spacing.
  • Use spacers to maintain uniform gaps between tiles, achieving a neat appearance.
  • Fill spaces between tiles with grout, selecting the right colour and type of grout for the project.
  • Apply it evenly and remove any excess to prevent a messy finish.
  • Clean the tiled surface thoroughly after grout has set.
  • Removing excess grout from the tile surface without damaging the grout lines, to leave a clean finish.
  • Apply waterproofing systems where necessary, especially in wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens.

Requirements:
  • Certificate III trade qualification in tiling or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience in wall and floor tiling, demonstrating a range of skills from basic tile installation to complex decorative work.
  • Proven experience with different types of tiles (ceramic, porcelain, stone, mosaic) and tiling techniques.
  • At least 2 years' experience gained within a professional capacity.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Skilled in the use of tiling tools and equipment, including tile cutters, trowels, and levelling devices.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, adhesive and grout application, and intricate cuts and measurements.
  • Understanding of waterproofing methods and materials.
  • Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations related to tiling and construction work.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Have at least 2 contactable work referees.
