Job Title: Skilled Tiler

We are seeking a skilled tiler to work with us in Brisbane, Australia.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III trade qualification in tiling or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in wall and floor tiling. They will be proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications, skilled in the use of tiling tools and equipment, and knowledgeable about surface preparation techniques, adhesive and grout application, and intricate cuts and measurements.

Responsibilities include reviewing detailed plans and specifications, measuring and marking surfaces, preparing walls and floors for tiling, filling holes and cracks, spreading adhesive, placing tiles, positioning them correctly, utilizing tile-cutting tools, paying attention to alignment and spacing, using spacers, filling spaces between tiles with grout, applying it evenly, removing excess, cleaning the tiled surface, removing excess grout from the tile surface without damaging the grout lines, applying waterproofing systems, laying floors, and providing clients with advice on tile selection, design options, maintenance, and repair services.

Key Requirements:

  • Certificate III trade qualification in tiling or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in wall and floor tiling, demonstrating a range of skills from basic tile installation to complex decorative work.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Skilled in the use of tiling tools and equipment.
  • Knowledgeable about surface preparation techniques, adhesive and grout application, and intricate cuts and measurements.
  • Good understanding of waterproofing methods and materials.
  • Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations related to tiling and construction work.
  • Ability to work independently.
