Health Justice Advocate Role
\Deliver high-quality legal services and education within healthcare settings, addressing family violence and family law matters for clients referred through hospitals and health providers.
\Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice and representation on domestic and family violence, family law, and child protection\
- Respond to on-call requests for legal advice\
- Deliver outreach legal services and conduct community legal education\
- Represent clients in court and tribunal settings\
- Collaborate with clinicians and health professionals on legal education and mandatory reporting\
- Create legal content for education programs and online platforms\
- Support partnerships and strengthen referral pathways between health and legal services\
- Contribute to law reform, reporting, and organisational compliance\
- Maintain a strong understanding of local laws and policies affecting families and individuals experiencing domestic and family violence\
- Develop effective strategies to address the needs of diverse client groups, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds\
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as family law, domestic violence, and child protection\
- Work collaboratively with other agencies and service providers to promote a cohesive response to domestic and family violence\
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support the delivery of high-quality legal services and education\
- Perform other duties as required by the Senior Management Team\
- Be eligible to hold a Practising Certificate in the Northern Territory\
- Post-admission experience in areas such as family and domestic violence is highly desirable\
- Strong communication and time management skills, cultural awareness, and a demonstrated commitment to social justice\
- Experience working with people from CALD and/or First Nations backgrounds\
- Familiarity with the CLASS database\
- Current NT Driver's Licence, Ochre Card, and National Police Check\
- A competitive base salary plus 12% superannuation\
