Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead an experienced engineering team to deliver innovative solutions for community wellbeing, while fostering opportunities for continuous professional growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering positive relationships with executive management, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Developing strategic business plans and infrastructure strategies.
  • Providing technical expertise and support for engineering projects and asset management.
  • Developing and managing various asset management plans, including roads, drainage, bridges, and major engineering structures.
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant legislation.

Essential Selection Criteria

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strategic thinking and decision-making ability.
  • Collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Leadership experience with a proven track record.
  • Understanding of corporate governance and workplace relations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous management experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and technical aspects of civil engineering.
  • At least 10 years' experience in civil engineering.

Desirable Criteria

Preferably, the candidate will have:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Business Management, or relevant discipline.
  • Experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, and/or stormwater management.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrological modelling software.
  • Previous experience in senior roles within local government.
