About the Role

The Australian Public Service (APS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader - Mission Assurance Officer to join the Air Mobility Control Centre (AMCC) team. As a key member of the HQ AMG Operational Support Team, you will be responsible for leading a small integrated team and providing ongoing training and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small integrated team and provide performance reporting and training.
  • Conduct governance, assurance, and validation functions post-mission activity.
  • Draft HQ AMG financial instruments for support of air mobility missions.
  • Analyze and interpret data to assist in AMG's budgetary decision-making and provide periodic transactional reporting.
  • Engage with domestic and international clients and stakeholders.
  • Respond to complex enquiries and take initiative to identify alternate courses of action.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with supervisors, staff, and team members.

About Our Team

The AMCC is responsible for the effective execution of air mobility missions for the Australian Defence Force. The team operates multiple missions daily, nationally and internationally, and is responsible for the support of air mobility missions by providing assurance through transactional validations on behalf of AMG to external stakeholders, providers, and vendors.

  • Experience in leading a team and assisting staff development through training, coaching, and feedback.
  • Ability to identify and interpret relevant policies and procedures to enact and remain compliant within a financial and records management framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring governance, assurance, auditing, and delivering on corporate reporting activities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and e-communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify inaccuracies and contribute to solutions.
  • Ability to communicate, liaise, and maintain relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
