About the Role

The Air Mobility Control Centre (AMCC) is responsible for effective execution of air mobility missions for the Australian Defence Force. As a proactive and committed team member, you will lead and mentor the HQ AMG Operational Support Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a small integrated team, performance reporting, and the provision of ongoing training and development;
  • Conduct governance, assurance, and validation functions post-mission activity;
  • Draft HQ AMG financial instruments for support of air mobility missions;
  • Analyse and interpret data and information extracted from various sources to assist in AMG's budgetary decision-making and provide periodic transactional reporting;
  • Engage and negotiate with domestic/international clients and stakeholders;
  • Responsive to complex enquiries, taking initiative to identify alternate courses of action when necessary;
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with supervisors, staff, and team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.

About Our Team

AMCC is responsible for effective execution of air mobility missions for the Australian Defence Force. As such, squadrons within the AMG - Force Element Group (FEG) operate multiple missions on a daily basis nationally and internationally.

AMG are the custodians of six passenger and cargo aircraft types and deliver lines of effort including air logistic support, airborne operations, and air-to-air refueling in addition to AMG support a range of aero-medical evacuations and search and rescue missions.

To be suitable for the role of APS 5 Team Leader - Mission Assurance Officer, you should possess most or all of the following skills, qualities, and experience:

  • Experience in leading a team and the ability to assist and support staff development through training, coaching, and providing feedback;
  • Ability to identify and interpret relevant policies and procedures to enact and remain compliant within a financial and records management framework;
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring governance, assurance, auditing, and delivering on corporate reporting activities;
  • Display strong written, verbal, and e-communication skills;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities;
  • Strong analytical skills to identify inaccuracies and contribute to solutions;
  • Ability to communicate, liaise, and maintain relationships with a variety of internal/external stakeholders.
