
Clinical Excellence Lead

This key role champions patient safety and quality improvement within the NSW Health system.
Key Responsibilities- Implement evidence-based strategies to ensure a culture of safety in accordance with the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to lead clinical audits, incident reviews, and quality improvement initiatives that reduce harm and enhance care.
- Educate staff through training and support in safety principles, reporting systems, and improvement methodologies.
- Use data to drive change by identifying trends and translating insights into actionable improvements in service delivery.
- Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support sector-wide safety and quality goals.
- A current registration with a recognised health professional body (e.g. AHPRA) and/or at least 5 years' experience in a healthcare or clinical environment is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in leading quality improvement initiatives, managing clinical incidents, and supporting cultural change is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of NSQHS Standards, human factors, and improvement methodologies is required.
- Excellent communication, time management, and stakeholder engagement skills are necessary for success.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel across NSW Ambulance sites are also required.
- A health professional background (e.g. nurse, paramedic, allied health) with a solid foundation in clinical care and governance is preferred.
- A passion for patient safety and quality improvement and ability to translate evidence into practice is essential.
- The ability to collaborate with clinical teams, operational leaders, and external partners to embed safety and quality is crucial.
- Comfort using data and insights to identify risks, drive improvements, and measure impact is necessary.
- A commitment to education and empowerment of others in safety principles and standards is also required.
