Defence Market Business Developer

We are seeking an experienced Defence Market Business Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the Defence sector.

You will work closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to align product and service offerings with customer needs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the Defence sector.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, military organisations, and prime contractors.
  • Collaborating with our engineering and manufacturing teams to align product and service offerings with customer needs.
  • Leading the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and tenders for Defence contracts.
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements to secure profitable and strategic partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical role with customer-facing experience, ideally in engineering. You will also require current Defence Security Clearance or the ability to obtain NV1 clearance. A strong understanding of the Defence Market is essential, as is good communication skills, both written and oral.

This is a full-time position that can be based in either our Geelong (VIC) or Seven Hills (NSW) offices or remotely based within close proximity to any of our sites or customers. Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in Sales or Business Development role.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical role with customer-facing experience, ideally in engineering.
  • Current Defence Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain NV1).
  • Experience and understanding of the Defence Market.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience with managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with MS Office suite (proficient).
  • Ability to interpret technical data, drawings, CAD, and specifications.
