Defence Market Business Development Opportunity

This role involves managing the end-to-end business development lifecycle for the Defence sector.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in sales or business development, a minimum of 10 years' experience in a technical role with customer-facing experience, and current defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1.

Key responsibilities include identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams, leading proposal submissions, negotiating contracts, and representing the company at industry events.

For this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the Defence sector.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to align product and service offerings with customer needs.
  • Leading the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and tenders for Defence contracts.
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements to secure profitable and strategic partnerships.
  • Representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.

As a successful Business Development Manager in this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies tailored to Defence sector requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a technical role with customer-facing experience.
  • Current Defence Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain NV1).
  • Experience and understanding of the Defence Market.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience with managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with MS Office suite (proficient).
  • Ability to interpret technical data, Drawings, CAD and specifications.
  • Experience in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in the application of composite materials technology.
  • Experience with SolidWorks/CAD (basic understanding).
