The Coates Group is seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications. This exciting opportunity will enable you to collaborate with various stakeholders, including customers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to deliver solutions that meet client needs.

About the Role

This position requires a strong understanding of customer needs, new technologies, and digital software development. As a Technical Business Analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to map client requirements into product epics and features, develop detailed user stories, and create necessary artefacts such as capability gap analysis and process flow diagrams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with customers and stakeholders to gather and document technical and functional business requirements;
  • Conducting workshops and interviews to elicit, validate, and document clear business requirements;
  • Mapping client requirements into product epics and features;
  • Decomposing product epics and features into user stories with detailed functional and technical requirements;
  • Developing strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients to define and confirm business requirements;
  • Providing content for product documentation describing features, business rules, and use cases;
  • Creating artefacts such as capability gap analysis and process flow diagrams;
  • Supporting the maintenance and update of user guides based on functional changes;
  • Supporting the creation of UAT test cases and conducting internal UAT;
  • Facilitating the creation of traceability matrices from detailed requirements to test cases;
  • Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and practices and proposing practical solutions;
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years' experience within a similar role;
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field;
  • Experience in digital software development for 5+ years (preferred);
  • Experience creating detailed functional specifications for digital software products;
  • Experience using Figma to create wireframe designs;
  • Experience working in agile and waterfall methodologies;
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence;
  • Knowledge of BABOK and business process mapping methods;
