Arabic-Speaking Child Protection Caseworker

Position Overview
As a Child Protection Caseworker specializing in multicultural communities, your primary responsibility will be to address concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children and young individuals. The utmost priority is ensuring the safety, welfare, and overall wellbeing of the children involved.
You will engage with parents, family members, and children in a sensitive and respectful manner, collaborating with various agencies to formulate safety plans and conduct thorough risk assessments.
This role specifically targets Arabic-speaking communities, and proficiency in the Arabic language is highly advantageous. Your cross-cultural skills and expertise will be instrumental in assisting families from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
You will provide support to families through the following services:
• Primary Casework – engaging directly with families from the designated community
• Secondary Casework – offering support to families from the target community
• Cultural Consultations – providing guidance to other caseworkers assisting families from the designated community
• Language Support – caseworkers focusing on specific language groups may be required to undergo a language assessment, and upon successful completion, receive accreditation to facilitate basic communication with families. This will be coordinated through the Community Language Assistance Scheme.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to collaborating with multicultural children, families, and communities, including Aboriginal and diverse cultures. You will possess:
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, Community Welfare, or a related field
• Experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families
• A valid Australian driver's license and a willingness to drive
• A working with children clearance number
