Multicultural Child Protection Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Multicultural Child Protection Caseworker to join our team in South Western Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in responding to reports of children or young people who may have been harmed or where there are safety concerns.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of the children or young person, while working collaboratively with parents, family members, children or young people, and other agencies to develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.
As a Multicultural Caseworker, you will utilize your cross-cultural skills and expertise to assist families from diverse backgrounds, with a focus on Arabic speaking communities. Language skills in Arabic are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Primary Casework: Working with families from your target community to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
- Secondary Casework: Providing support to families from your target community who require additional assistance.
- Cultural Consultations: Collaborating with other Caseworkers to provide culturally sensitive support to families from your target community.
- Language Support: Providing simple communication with families, with the opportunity to receive accreditation through the Community Language Assistance Scheme.

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who is committed to working collaboratively with multicultural children, families, and communities. To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, Community Welfare, or a related field.
- Experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
- A valid Australian driver's licence and willingness to drive.
- A working with children clearance number.
