About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Multicultural Child Protection Specialist to join our team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. As a key member of our child protection team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and young people from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to reports of child harm or safety concerns, prioritizing the safety and well-being of children and young people.
  • Work collaboratively with families, community agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement safety plans and risk assessments.
  • Provide culturally sensitive and respectful support to families from Arabic-speaking backgrounds, utilizing your cross-cultural skills and expertise.
  • Conduct primary and secondary casework, cultural consultations, and language support as required.

About You

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, Community Welfare, or a related field.
  • Experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families, particularly from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • A valid Australian driver's license and willingness to drive.
  • A working with children clearance number.
