Job Description:

The role of Technical Underwriting Specialist plays a crucial part in enabling and supporting the future growth of our Casualty portfolio across Asia-Pacific.

This position is instrumental in supporting our growth strategy for our Casualty business, providing technical support to teams in APAC, leading market engagement, key account strategies, and solution-oriented underwriting.

This individual collaborates across geographical and functional boundaries to create relationships that further our objectives and market position.

  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Implement business mix goals focusing on strategy deployment and capacity aligned with global and regional Casualty appetite, Business Rules, and Underwriting Guidelines
  • Establish strong customer/industry relationships, including broker relationships at all levels of wholesale, local, and international broking firms, direct relationships with clients where necessary
  • Ensure product Risk Management and governance are arranged according to current guidelines, attain expertise in all product lines, including changes and developments, and prepare training in Casualty underwriting and products
  • Complete delegated projects as expected and requested by the Head of Liability, APAC of Global CUO Liability, develop office systems, and assist local teams on other aspects needing support to meet targets
