Job Title

Instrument and Electrical Technician (Underground Mining)

Job Description:

As an Instrument and Electrical Technician at our underground mining operation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our electrical maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the maintenance team to ensure all works are safe and compliant with standards;
  • Ensure good quality work is achieved to meet or exceed maintenance KPI targets;
  • Maintain accurate records of work required/done on all work orders;
  • Work closely with supervisors/planners to keep Pronto data up to date;
  • Develop familiarity of underground assets including fixed plant materials handling, hoisting systems, drill rigs, 1kV and 415/240V auxiliary equipment;
  • Fault-find and calibrate instruments including weight, pressure, temperature, and distance measurement devices;
  • Assist with high-voltage network switching according to isolation and access requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in an underground mining environment with various fixed plant assets;
  • A safety-focused mindset and a can-do attitude with willingness to accept individual responsibility within a small team;
  • Basic computer skills and relevant machinery tickets;
  • Competence in assessing risks, applying sound operational controls, and executing tasks proficiently to ensure optimal fixed plant performance.
