Unlocking potential for every child is at the heart of our mission to create a world-leading public education system.

We're building a system that's fair, prioritises learning and wellbeing, and works towards making our education system the best it can be.

This Behaviour Support Educator role will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a metropolitan location. The successful candidate will provide services to Aboriginal children, young people, and their families attending remote schools in the Anangu Lands.

As a Behaviour Support Educator, you'll provide proactive, preventative, and targeted support to help sites meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs. This includes:

  • Providing individualised interventions for children and young people
  • Developing and implementing groups, classes, and whole-of-preschool and school-wide practices and policies

You'll promote a restorative approach to behaviour development, exploring the purpose of behaviour to understand its underlying factors.

The Behaviour Support Educator practice will be guided by evidence-based frameworks, including Positive Behaviour Learning, Trauma-Informed practice, Restorative Practice, Verbal De-escalation techniques, and Australian Professional Standards for teachers.

Our Student Support Services team works in partnership with schools, preschools, and families to deliver proactive, targeted, and intensive intervention services. We value and prioritise Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing, and being.
