Senior Chef Role at Hamilton Island

Hamilton Island seeks a passionate and versatile senior chef to join our dedicated Conventions & Events team. The role offers the opportunity to cook at the forefront of island events and luxury hospitality.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, flexibility to adapt to various event formats and locations, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Essential).
  • Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Proven ability to manage own section and maintain quality under pressure.
  • Experience with luxury hotel banqueting, off-site catering, or upmarket event environments.

As Senior Chef, you'll be a key member of our Conventions team, producing high-quality dishes across a wide range of indoor and outdoor events. You'll work collaboratively with the team to ensure every function runs smoothly and meets our standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and execute dishes for events ranging from intimate weddings to large-scale conventions.
  • Operate live cooking stations and support off-site catering setups.
  • Support menu development, food prep, plating, and service logistics.
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and hygiene standards across every event.
