Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Turbine Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks on steam and gas turbines, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and disassembling, repairing, and balancing mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform de-blading, re-blading, and rotor balancing on steam and gas turbines
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and use protective gear to maintain a safe working environment
  • Disassemble, repair, and balance mechanical equipment, including turbine shafts, journals, and housings
  • Conduct measurements and inspections using precision tools and accurately record results
  • Replace or repair mechanical components, including turbine gears, seals, impellers, fans, and bearings

Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate III in Fitting & Turning or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting on turbines and/or rotating machinery
  • Strong ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders
