Job Role Overview:

A highly skilled Turbine Mechanical Fitter is required to perform maintenance on steam and gas turbines, ensuring optimal efficiency and operational longevity.

  • Key responsibilities include performing complex tasks such as de-blading, re-blading, and rotor balancing to maximize turbine efficiency.
  • The role requires safety and quality compliance by following procedures and using protective gear.
  • Disassembly, repair, and balancing of mechanical equipment including turbine shafts, journals, and housings are essential duties.
  • Conducting measurements and inspections using precision tools and filling out check sheets accurately is a critical task.
  • Replacing or repairing mechanical components including turbine gears, seals, impellers, fans, and bearings is also part of the job.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Trade Certificate III in Fitting & Turning or similar.
  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting on turbines and/or rotating machinery.
  • A strong ability to manage workloads effectively while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • A proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A valid Driver's and Forklift Licence.
