Job Title: Sustainable Outcomes Coordinator

About the Role:

The Waste Management team provides services to both the council and community in waste management, taking a lead role in formulating waste management strategies that align with sustainability goals.

As a Sustainable Outcomes Coordinator, you will implement waste management initiatives and sustainability opportunities at operational and closed waste facilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project managing environmental compliance of operational and closed landfills.
  • Planning and delivering solid waste infrastructure, contracts, and operations.
  • Acting as a contract administrator, supervising contractors at Landfills, Transfer Stations, Resource Recovery Centres, and other waste facilities.
  • Undertaking procurement activities for goods and services, including writing specifications, preparing contract management plans, and tender evaluations.
  • Reviewing technical environmental reports and scientific papers, undertaking technical duties associated with Environmental Authority and General Environmental Duty compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have qualifications and/or demonstrated project and contract management experience in environmental compliance and contracts. You will possess comprehensive knowledge of environmental legislation and policy impacting waste management, high-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and strong business acumen.

You will also have formal relevant qualifications (Degree) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent, or substantial experience in relevant Government or private sectors, preferably in the Waste or regulated industry.
