Job Title: Sustainability and Environment Advisor

At our organization, we are seeking an experienced Sustainability and Environment Advisor to join our Safety and Sustainability team.

This pivotal role involves shaping and delivering our Group Sustainability Plan, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and making a real impact on our environmental performance and compliance.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Providing support to the Principal Sustainability and Environment Specialist in implementing the Group Environment and Sustainability Strategy.
  • Identifying, maintaining, controlling, and ensuring the effectiveness of environmental risks (aspects and impacts) within a register.
  • Administering all relevant external and internal environment and sustainability reporting requirements according to schedule.
  • Administering relevant safety and sustainability events in our database.
  • Coordinating internal environmental projects and contributing to external regulatory reporting.
  • Monitoring environmental compliance and driving continual improvement.
  • Collaborating across business units to support sustainability initiatives and reporting.
  • Contributing to the development of procedures and environmental documentation.
  • Supporting and coordinating internal audits, compliance registers, and environmental system improvements.
  • Identifying and supporting the delivery of environmental training aligned to our management systems requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • At least 2 years' experience in sustainability or environmental roles within heavy industry or mining.
  • A strong understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Working knowledge of NGERs and NPI reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in compliance auditing, data analysis, and report writing.
  • A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography, or Environmental Engineering is mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to interpret environmental legislation and apply it practically across diverse sites.
  • A passion for sustainable practices and continual improvement.
