Our newly established Group Capital Projects division is seeking a Lead Specialist in Project Services.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the VP of Capital and Projects, you will be responsible for establishing the standards and tools for project controls, including cost, schedule, and risk management. You will also oversee the documentation for the capital delivery framework and manage the investment office and assurance initiatives.

This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis and will involve global travel to support major capital projects both locally and internationally.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate resourcing for project control functions, aligning team capabilities with project complexity, while maintaining a talent pipeline for project managers.
  • Provide training and awareness for project controls staff regarding Gold Fields project requirements.
  • Maintain and offer guidance on project controls processes, standards, and tools (cost, schedule, and risk) for effective project delivery across the organization.
  • Oversee the documentation of project frameworks (investment processes, study standards, execution phase standards, reports) for the projects team.
  • Establish a consistent project reporting format and processes for stakeholders at site, functional, and corporate levels.
  • Ensure timely scheduling of investment committee meetings with all necessary supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with Principal Studies and Principal Execution to maintain the assurance plan for the capital portfolio, supporting investment processes and gating requirements.
  • Aggregate project information across the portfolio to provide insights into progress (cost and schedule) and risks for senior stakeholders and other business functions.
  • Work alongside the project services group to ensure robust governance programs are in place to provide assurance during project execution.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Advanced proficiency in English (both verbal and written)
  • Extensive experience in project services, preferably within the mining sector
  • Experience in portfolio management
  • Strong cross-business stakeholder management skills
  • Valid manual C class driver's license
