This is a unique opportunity to work with the NSW Government, one of the biggest employers in Australia.

About Your New Role

The role involves assessing claims and gathering information for liability assessment by senior staff or external handlers. It does not involve workers compensation responsibilities and focuses on Motor Vehicle (excluding CTP) and Public Liability insurance claims. The role provides short-term cover to support leave periods and during the recruitment process for a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain efficient claim processing according to governance standards.
  • Provide reports and assessments on insurance management.
  • Advise staff and third parties on insurance claims and policies.
  • Assist in developing and managing the Council's insurance policy framework, including public liability, professional indemnity, and motor vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate business records related to insurance claims in databases.
Essential Criteria:
  • High-level understanding of risk management principles.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in insurance claims management, business, or related fields.
  • Strong written communication skills, including report writing and data briefing.
  • Ability to work productively and flexibly within a team.
