Volunteer Coordinator Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Volunteer Coordinator with strong organisational and communication skills to oversee volunteer programs. This rewarding role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a positive impact in our community.

This position is ideal for someone who possesses a caring, patient and flexible attitude, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

The successful candidate will have excellent administration skills and be able to multitask with a high level of attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee volunteer recruitment, training, retention and replacements in programs.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date volunteer resources.
  • Work with managers, team leaders and coordinators to identify potential volunteer positions and develop position descriptions for each role.
  • Create recruitment pathways with external organisations.
  • Provide ongoing information and support to volunteer supervisors to ensure compliance with volunteer standards and best practice in volunteering.

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in human services or a related field.
  • Experience in a volunteer coordination role within a human services environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - verbal, and written.
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and multitask with high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and work collaboratively within a team environment.
