Your new role

As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will provide an active service model with an emphasis on coordinating, recruiting, training, supporting, and retaining volunteers to assist consumers in participating in everyday activities, maintaining or rebuilding confidence, improving social connectedness and emotional wellbeing, and staying active and healthy.

You will lead the implementation of processes for engaging volunteers, participants, and carers in the ongoing development, review, and evaluation of activities. You will consider individual goals, diversity, and the needs and preferences of participants when planning programs and activities. You will oversee and, as required, participate in capacity building and social inclusion activities for participants.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in your application, you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a tertiary qualification in Disability, Social Work, Community Services, or a related discipline, and experience working with vulnerable people.

You will also have:

  • Current Valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
  • Current first aid and CPR certificates.
  • Previous experience in volunteer coordination and support roles, including recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage and collaborate with a volunteer workforce, recognizing their contributions.
  • Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable people.
  • Ability to coordinate capacity building and social inclusion activities for people of all abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
