About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analytical and Quality Chemist to join our team at Programmed. As a key member of our Chemical Reference Materials Laboratory, you will play a critical role in supporting our analytical work and maintaining the quality system requirements consistent with ISO 17034.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Troubleshoot Analytical Instrumentation: You will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting a range of analytical instrumentation, including HPLC with UV/Charged Aerosol detection, GC-FID, and Karl Fischer moisture analysis.
  • Analyze Organic Calibration Standards: You will analyze organic calibration standards for sale to clients in accordance with our quality system.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: You will undertake data analysis in Excel workbooks and update certificates of analysis using Microsoft Word.
  • Quality System Improvements: You will implement quality system improvements consistent with ISO 17034, including updates to method manuals, SOPs, and the quality manual.
  • Support Senior Scientist: You will support the senior scientist by managing investigations related to corrective actions and implementing improved processes to prevent reoccurrence of quality non-conformances.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) qualification in chemistry is required.
  • Experience: Significant laboratory experience and proficiency in various preparation techniques and sample analysis using specialized laboratory equipment and instruments are essential.
  • Quality Standards: Knowledge of quality standards including ISO 17034 is required.
  • Security Clearance: A Baseline security clearance is required, and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
