Key Roles and Responsibilities

Sydney Metro is seeking a visionary leader to join their team as Director Operations.

This high-profile position offers an exciting opportunity for you to leave your footprint on the business, leveraging your expertise to drive the delivery of a world-class metro line with an organisational culture of continuous improvement and robust operational capability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading an integrated cross-functional team focused on operational delivery and performance, contract management, operational readiness, customer experience and communications, as well as maintenance and asset lifecycle management activities.

You will work closely with senior leadership teams from across the Transport cluster to ensure maximum return on investment and value for money for NSW government.

This role requires a strategic 50-year commercial mindset with big picture thinking and the ability to step out of the day-to-day to display proven executive level leadership and management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience in railway operations.
  • Strategic thinking and leadership skills to guide decision-making and drive the delivery of complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.
