We are seeking a Senior Observations Infrastructure Strategist to lead our efforts in designing and implementing effective observations infrastructure.

Job Summary

This is a key leadership position responsible for providing specialist advice, direction and guidance on observing infrastructure architecture and equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse team of specialists and engaging with industry stakeholders to improve observations infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of specialists: Lead a team of engineers and technologists responsible for delivering solutions on a range of technologies including radars and rainfall stations.
  • Engage with industry stakeholders: Collaborate with science and engineering communities to identify opportunities for improving observations infrastructure.
  • Establish capabilities: Develop strategies and methods for providing required observations for Bureau services.
  • Work with related teams: Partner with Infrastructure Development and National Operations teams to deliver results.

  • Extensive experience: Proven track record in engineering planning and delivery.
  • Advanced stakeholder management: Strong ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • High level of management skill: Ability to distil significant issues from complex material.
