
Accounts Payable Lead

The primary function of this role is to lead the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department and contribute to ongoing systems integration initiatives. This includes overseeing accurate and timely supplier payments, managing a diverse set of stakeholders, key metrics reporting, driving continuous process improvement, supporting team development, and contributing to system optimisation and compliance across a dynamic multi-entity environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced and hands-on Accounts Payable professional to join our organisation and take on a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Accounts Payable function. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading teams, with experience in supervising and managing staff, as well as driving process improvements and implementing change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Accounts Payable team to achieve high service levels and drive a customer-centric culture.
- Oversee the Converga system, ensuring its effective use and efficient processing of accounts payable transactions.
- Manage business expense systems, including SAP Concur and Appzen, to ensure seamless data integration and accurate expense tracking.
- Develop and maintain robust supplier data, including new supplier setup, termination, rebates, payment terms, and cost center management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, procurement, operational stakeholders, IT, and finance to ensure operational efficiency, system optimisation, and compliance.
- Prepare and present management reports and key performance indicators to senior leadership, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
- Champion continuous improvement and process redesign, leveraging expertise to deliver sustainable results.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in an Accounts Payable or finance-related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive process improvements and implement change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, with autonomy and accountability, while also being a collaborative team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with Converga, Oracle, and SAP Concur is highly desirable.
