Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to assume the role of Enterprise Risk Advisor. This position involves collaborating closely with various stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could potentially impact our strategy and operational performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive risk management plans, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing expert advice on risk-related matters.

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the complex regulatory environment in which we operate and apply this knowledge to inform risk management strategies.
  • Support the implementation and effective application of our enterprise-wide risk management framework.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of risk profiles and maintenance of risk records by the area in accordance with mandated requirements.
  • Identify key metrics to monitor overall risk levels, ensuring ongoing risk management aligns with our risk appetite.
  • Contribute to delivering and innovating strategic objectives for Group Risk, enhancing its effectiveness and efficiency as a second line of defense.
  • Assist business areas in conducting risk/threat assessments and reviews aligned with our strategy, taking into account our risk appetite, where necessary facilitating material risk assessments directly.
  • Provide training and coaching to representatives and risk owners within the area as required.
  • Motivate and influence stakeholders to continuously improve risk management processes and facilitate area risk and governance forums, including proactive oversight of material action items to assess whether risks have been adequately mitigated.
  • Monitor business adherence to external legislation and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position.
  • Be willing to work across various business units, teams, functions or activities as requested by the Chief Risk Officer or Head of Risk Business Partnering.
Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a Strategy, Program Risk or Risk function.
  • Tertiary or post-graduate qualification in a business, management, risk or other relevant discipline.
  • Proven expertise in development and management of key risk indicators, particularly those relating to strategy, programs, and project outcomes, as well as merging risk/horizon scanning.
  • Prior experience within complex changing environments with multiple stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of practical implementation of widely used risk management frameworks, including those related to strategy, programs, projects, and horizon scanning.
