Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our project management team. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for initiating, planning, implementing and finalising major capital projects and programs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program and project management of capital works, with experience in leading project teams and developing team member technical capability. They will also possess contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role, including Commonwealth procurement, project and property budget management, contract negotiation and management, risk management, communication and change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of major infrastructure projects or programs
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of accommodation solutions, principles, standards and policies
  • Manage risk, scope, time cost and quality across multiple concurrent projects
  • Support and provide input into internal and external funding bids, business cases and high-level reporting to executive boards
  • Lead, mentor and develop team member capability
  • Manage project procurement activities and participate in the negotiation of contracts and agreements

Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship
  • Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Demonstrated understanding of Commonwealth procurement policies and legislation
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering major capital works projects and programs
  • Demonstrated experience in leading project teams and developing team member technical capability
