Job Overview

The Staff Specialist/VMO will participate in the consultant on-call roster, assist with the education role of the department, and provide clinical care to patients for optimal patient outcomes.

This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate a commitment to behaviours which align to key values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the consultant on-call roster
  • Assist with the education role of the department
  • Provide clinical care to patients for optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
  • Hold Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in Emergency Medicine
  • Demonstrate recent clinical experience in Emergency Medicine at the role delineation of the service
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
  • Have effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
