Job Summary

The Religious Education Coordinator plays a key role in providing leadership and coordination of the pedagogical and administrative frameworks to support the teaching of Religious Education for Years 7 to 12.

This includes leading a team of teaching staff to develop, embed and continuously improve teaching and learning, curriculum development and evaluation practices to enable each student's capacity to achieve her full potential.

We are seeking an individual who possesses excellent classroom practitioner skills, substantial currency in Religious Education pedagogy and knowledge of the Religious Education curriculum, with the ability to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of teaching staff to develop, embed and continuously improve teaching and learning, curriculum development and evaluation practices.
  • Provide leadership and coordination of the pedagogical and administrative frameworks to support the teaching of Religious Education for Years 7 to 12.
  • Develop and implement inclusive and contemporary teaching and learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with parents, students and staff.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Stage 6 Studies of Religion.
  • Commitment to Catholic education and a clear understanding of the vision and mission of Catholic Schools.
  • Demonstrated educational leadership skills with the ability to build the capacity and effectively manage the performance of individuals and teams.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner skills with substantial currency in Religious Education pedagogy and knowledge of the Religious Education curriculum.
