Support Worker Job Summary

Our organization is seeking a Support Worker to provide care and assistance to individuals in their daily lives. The successful candidate will have the ability to support people with various needs, from personal care to household tasks.

About the Role:

  1. The Support Worker will work closely with our clients to identify their goals and preferences, providing personalized care and support tailored to their unique needs.
  2. The role involves assisting individuals with daily living tasks, such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and mobility support.
  3. You will also be responsible for engaging our clients in activities of interest, promoting socialization and community integration.
  4. Transporting individuals to medical appointments and providing respite support in their homes are also key aspects of this role.
  5. Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with our team regarding client updates and service delivery are essential responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Aged Care, Home and Community Care, or Community Services) is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Physical fitness and the capacity to push a wheelchair are necessary.
  • A roadworthy vehicle suitable for transporting individuals with mobility issues is required.
  • Desirable qualifications include a C Class driver's license with PTD authorization, prior experience in community care, and First Aid certification.
