Bakers and Pastrycooks Opportunity

The role of Bakers and Pastrycooks is crucial in the preparation and presentation of goods.

Job Description:

  • Mixing, preparing, weighing and measuring ingredients for the preparation of goods.
  • Decorating pastries using different icings, toppings, etc., ensuring the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
  • Glazing buns and pastries and decorating cakes with cream and icing.
  • Monitoring stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, etc. and making appropriate orders within management guidelines.
  • Contributing to menu development and seasonal pastry menus.
  • Checking the quality of materials and condition of equipment used for cooking.
  • Complying with food hygiene and safety requirements.
  • Ensuring a clean and hygienic work environment.
  • Storing food and other items properly.
  • Keeping accurate records.
  • Operating various kitchen equipment.
  • Identifying staffing needs and assisting in recruitment and training.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Planning and preparing production and schedules.
  • Availability on weekends and flexibility to work split shifts.
  • Preference for holding a Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or a relevant field.
  • Qualified Baker experience required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility to relocate if currently residing interstate or in other cities.
