Flight Operations Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Aviation and Critical Services team in Bendigo, Victoria, where you will play a critical role in supporting our operations.

As a Flight Operations Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining your flying currency and conducting safe flight operations in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies;
  • Reporting promptly on all operational and maintenance issues;
  • Completing pre-flight and post-flight documentation;
  • Interacting successfully with aircrew, clients, healthcare staff, and other stakeholders;
  • Operating safely and efficiently within a small team environment;
  • Assisting the medical team in providing critical interventions, patient management, and care during HEMS and SAR missions;
  • Providing accurate visual observations and information to pilots regarding clearances, personnel movements, and flight safety concerns;
  • Maintaining readiness of operational equipment;
  • Performing duties as an Aircrew Officer/Winch Operator during HEMS and SAR missions;
  • Assisting with the ongoing maintenance and inspection of base and role equipment;
  • Conducting aircraft preparation and post-flight husbandry;
  • Ensuring security and safe configuration of cabin and equipment.

About You

Essential requirements:

  • A minimum of 500 hours experience as a Flight Operations Specialist;
  • Winch operator endorsements held for over 12 months, along with relevant experience or military endorsement;
  • Current HUET or HUET with EBS;
  • Senior First Aid/Advanced Resus certification;
  • Hold a valid CASA Class 2 Medical Certificate;
  • Certificate IV Aviation (Aircrewman) or AVI40119 (Aircrew Officer);
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
