About the Role:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and skilled After Hours Nurse Manager, providing overall management of a healthcare facility outside of business hours. This is a permanent part-time position, working 24 hours per week.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operate the facility effectively during non-business hours, overseeing patient access and care coordination.
- Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Emergency Treatment Performance (ETP) and Transfer of Care (TOC).
- Lead crisis management efforts during significant after-hours events, in consultation with senior executives.
- Manage nursing and support staff during off-peak hours, optimize skill mix, and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with Patient Flow Co-Coordinators to enhance nurse-led strategies and practice improvement through a practice development approach.
Requirements:
- A current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the relevant governing body.
- Recognized tertiary qualifications in management or equivalent, with evidence of recent professional development enhancing leadership and management competencies.
- Demonstrated experience in change management with measurable outcomes.
- Leadership and senior management experience in complex healthcare environments.
- Recent broad clinical, operational, and strategic experience at a senior level within a healthcare setting.
- Strong verbal, written, and negotiation skills; ability to utilize IT platforms and produce clear plans and reports.
