Job Description

Job Title: Director of Early Childhood Education

Job Summary:

McArthur is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Early Childhood Education to lead our team of educators and support the growth and development of young children. As a Centre Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our childcare centre, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children, and collaborating with our team to deliver high-quality education and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a team of educators to deliver high-quality education and care
  • Engage with educators, children, and parents to build positive relationships and foster a sense of community
  • Nurture relationships with staff, families, stakeholders, and the community to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment
  • Oversee resources and ensure smooth operations, including budgeting, staffing, and facilities management
  • Be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the centre and our community

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within Early Childhood Education, including Centre Management or Nominated Supervisor experience
  • Proven experience in staff development, engagement, coaching, and mentoring
  • Experience in writing and managing policies, including child protection and safety protocols
  • Strong commitment to the care, development, and education of young children
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including public speaking
  • High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work autonomously
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Xplor

Qualifications:

  • ACECQA Approved Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred) or Diploma qualification
  • Approved Working with Children Check as per NSW regulations and compliance
  • Current Certificate in First Aid (including current annual CPR certificate)
  • Current Certificate in Asthma/Anaphylaxis
  • Completion of an Approved Child Protection course
