TE Connectivity is seeking a highly skilled Global Trade Services Counsel to join our team in the Asia & Pacific region. As a key member of our Law Department, you will provide strategic and operational compliance services for our global operations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal advice and counseling on trade laws and regulations in the APAC region, including export controls, restricted parties, economic sanctions, and customs matters.
- Collaborate with our GTS operational trade compliance teams to ensure compliance with trade laws and regulations.
- Conduct and support trade compliance risk assessments, investigations, and audits, and develop remediation or corrective action plans.
- Monitor and keep current on the rapidly evolving global trade environment, and communicate with our teams on the impact of changes and support risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead interactions with trade-related government regulators, and prepare and manage responses to internal and external audits and government inquiries.
- Contribute to our culture of engagement and performance in alignment with our core values.
- Lead by example and mentor colleagues within our GTS function and the company.
- 5-7 years of experience in trade controls and policy, which can be satisfied through a mix of law firm, in-house and government experience.
- Demonstrates an ability to communicate clearly and persuasively both verbally and in writing.
- Experience navigating complex trade law issues and dealing with key trade regulatory agencies.
- Ability to manage projects independently and work within cross-functional teams to resolve legal questions and implement long-term mitigation strategies.
