Nurse Unit Manager of Anaesthetics/PACU

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nurse Unit Manager to join our Theatre Leadership Team at Northern Beaches Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational direction for the Anaesthetics/PACU service, ensuring efficient and effective coordination for optimal operating theatre efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to the Anaesthetics/PACU team to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient theatre operations
- Develop and implement strategies to improve theatre efficiency, patient flow, and staff productivity
- Collaborate with anaesthetists, surgeons, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination
- Manage and maintain accurate records, reports, and data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Healthscope standards
- Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification in leadership or management (or willingness to undertake)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in perioperative services, with extensive clinical skills and experience working in a perioperative suite with 10 or more theatres undertaking complex surgical procedures
- Recent experience managing a department (including acting)
- Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams with a service excellence approach
- High level of planning and organizing skills
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills
- High degree of computer literacy
- Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded
