About the Role

Thiess is currently recruiting a Health and Safety Professional for its Eva Copper Mine project, located on traditional lands. The successful candidate will report to the Project Health & Safety Manager, supporting the planning, coordination, and problem-solving of functional health and safety issues.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role requiring flexibility and adaptability. The main responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining relevant records and reports related to health and safety issues.
  • Implementing injury management processes and driving a strong safety culture.
  • Liaising with departments to ensure safety objectives are met.
  • Championing health and safety laws, regulations, and statutory obligations.
  • Conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.

The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for workplace safety and health, a tertiary qualification in Health and Safety, and experience in injury management and return-to-work coordination.

  • Facilitating ICAM investigations.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
