Digital Technology Security Specialist

Job Overview:
The Government Authority seeks a highly skilled SOC Security Analyst to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its digital technology infrastructure.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance the security stack in accordance with security policies and governance standards.
- Review the technology environment and apply recommendations from various security frameworks.
- Lead improvements to IT infrastructure security posture, including identity security, next-gen firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection, and SIEM.
- Contribute to network security standards and implementation of cyber security programs.
- Analyse network and security events using SIEM to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Key Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience as a SOC Analyst or Cyber Security Analyst with a background in systems/network administration.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365 security suite, including Entra, Defender, Purview, and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Experience working with endpoint detection and response solutions, threat hunting, and identification of indicators of compromise.
- Demonstrated experience applying and maintaining governance and compliance within the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Victorian Protective Data Security Framework (VPDSF).
- Desirable: Experience with EDR/MDR platforms like SentinelOne or CrowdStrike.
