Environmental Sustainability Manager

Symal Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team in Mount Fox, a 2-hour drive from Townsville. This is a FIFO role with a 2:1 roster, offering a unique opportunity to work on an innovative energy project.
Your ImpactAs an Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Symal leaves a minimal impact on the surrounding environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and maintaining environment and sustainability management systems across the project.
Your Responsibilities- Develop and lead the maintenance of environment and sustainability management systems across the project.
- Manage environmental incident response and investigations, ensuring all potential risks are mitigated in conjunction with the wider HSEQ team.
- Provide environment and sustainability guidance, ensuring a consistent approach to compliance across the project.
- Coordinate multiple work fronts and consultants.
- Maintain a high level of compliance to project management systems, contract requirements, and legislative requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Earth Science, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent.
- Post-graduate qualifications in the environmental field and/or project management are highly regarded.
- ISC Sustainability Accreditation (desirable).
- Approximately 5-10 years of relevant experience in HSEQ within the construction industry.
- Certification under a nationally recognized professional program in Erosion and Sediment Control or similar.
- Willingness to work away from home in a camp environment.
- Experience working in Queensland (ideally).
