About the Opportunity

We are seeking several Aviation Technical Instructors to join our Aerospace division, specifically for the Aviation Technical Training (ATT) initiative. This role is based in a location known for its affordable living, vibrant community, and proximity to major cities.

The BAE Systems Aviation Technical Training (ATT) initiative is responsible for delivering comprehensive aviation trade training and technical management training to the Australian Defence Force. As part of our inclusive and supportive team, you will have the opportunity to utilize your nurturing and engaging personality to educate and mentor the next generation of Aviation Technical Maintainers.

We invite applications from qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers in the following disciplines:

  • Aircraft Life Support
  • Individuals with extensive knowledge of Defence Aviation Safety Regulations and assurance

If you are passionate about imparting your knowledge and skills in aircraft maintenance or aviation safety, we can assist you in your professional development. These fulfilling positions will be offered on a permanent full-time basis and will report to our Training Team Leader – Senior Educator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and deliver technical training in both:
    • Initial Employment Training
    • Post Initial Employment Training
  • Conduct various aviation technical training activities
  • Supervise Australian Defence Force personnel in a simulated work environment
  • Provide specialized skills and guidance to enhance aviation technical training
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, government, and industry partners
  • Design and develop training solutions and related documentation
  • Keep accurate electronic and physical records of training documentation
  • Guide and mentor Defence trainees and students in best practices within the aviation sector

About You:

  • Proven industry experience as a qualified Aviation Maintenance Engineer (AME) or in Aircraft/Electrical Engineering with knowledge of Aviation Safety Regulations
  • A certificate III/IV in Aeroskills or a higher qualification, or a current EASA/CASA license
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Self-driven, eager to learn new concepts, and motivated to enhance existing processes
  • While not mandatory, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or experience as a technical training instructor will be highly regarded
