Nurse Leadership Position

The role of a Nurse Unit Manager is to oversee the operational management of the Emergency department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of nursing care.

  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals in providing high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement clinical operational direction for the unit.
  • Co-ordinate evidence-based nursing practices and ensure excellent patient-centered care.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to staff members.
  • Accountable for managing human, financial, and material resources effectively.
  • Undertake direct patient care when required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current registration with the relevant governing body.
  • A valid working with children check.
  • Previous experience at a NUM level or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate qualification in critical care and experience in a critical care setting.
  • Commitment to developing management skills.
  • Management degree or working towards it (desired).
  • Demonstrated HR management experience.
  • Strong knowledge base in labour management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of clinical and customer-focused care.
  • High level of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases.
