Urban Designer and Planner

We are seeking a talented and experienced Urban Designer to join our team. As a Senior Advisor, you will play a key role in shaping the design outcomes of our infrastructure projects.
As part of our City Design and Public Domain team, you will work closely with specialists in Urban Design, Architecture, and Landscape Architecture to achieve design excellence across the Liverpool Local Government Area.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing and commenting on urban design plans, providing landscape and environmental advice, and representing Council as an expert in Land & Environment Court matters.
You will also develop frameworks for urban design controls and guidelines, and provide design oversight and input on reports and recommendations to the Liverpool Local Traffic Committee.
In addition, you will contribute to Council's broader capital works and sustainability programs, and participate in green infrastructure projects to improve the natural and built environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have tertiary qualifications in Urban Design or a related field, experience working on design projects, and excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
You will also need to be self-motivated, practical, and outcome-focused, with the ability to work autonomously and manage a complex workload.
