About the Role:

The Hyatt Centric Melbourne is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to join our Culinary team.

As a vital member of our kitchen team, you will assist the Executive Chef in the smooth operation of the hotel's kitchens, supervising team members, and creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the training and development of junior chefs
  • Set, clear, and reset designated working areas and sections
  • Maintain a positive relationship between back-of-house and front-of-house teams
  • Assist with running shifts and ensuring basic kitchen standards are met when Sous and Executive Chefs are off-site
  • Follow all prescribed hotel policies and food safety standards
  • Monitor and maintain the quality and quantity of all dishes to be served

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience working in a fast-paced high-end restaurant or hotel
  • Experience with Modern Australian and Classic European cuisine is preferred
  • Certificate IV Commercial Cookery or higher
  • Great organisational and leadership skills with the ability to train junior staff and run all sections of the kitchen
  • Ability to work on a flexible 24/7 roster
  • Well-developed computer skills, particularly in the use of MS Office
  • Effective communication skills and a team player
