Research Associate in Palliative Care

HammondCare is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join its palliative care research team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of HammondCare's palliative care research strategy.

  • Provide academic research support to senior palliative care researchers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HammondCare's palliative care research strategy.
  • Build and maintain internal and external research collaborations.
  • Support research design, including protocol development and project management.
  • Conduct data analysis, generate reports, and contribute to academic publications.
  • Present and disseminate research findings via seminars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Mentor and support junior researchers to build internal research capacity.
  • Coordinate and participate in research meetings and communications.
  • Ensure compliance with research governance and ethical standards.
  • Take initiative in proposing, securing funding for, and managing new research projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A commitment to engaging and aligning with HammondCare's mission, motivation, and values.
  • A passion for research that can improve palliative and supportive care.
  • A PhD in a relevant health-related, aged-care, or social science discipline.
  • Experience in mixed methods health services research in a relevant field.
  • A track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Skills in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods (ideally both).
  • Knowledge and experience of systematic reviews desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills, including high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office products and reference management software.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in grant writing and research project management an advantage.
  • Clinical background in a relevant field desirable.
