Optic Fibre Installation Leader

This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, civil experience, and a passion for working in remote environments.

Job Description

The successful candidate will oversee the installation of optic fibre cables using ploughing techniques, managing a crew of approx. 6 people.

The team leader will be responsible for overseeing civil activities including cable hauling, excavation, and equipment operation.

Maintaining safety standards and leading daily pre-start/toolbox talks are also key responsibilities of this role.

The position involves monitoring project delivery, quality, and team performance.

Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders is crucial for success in this role.

The team leader will maintain records, schedules, and progress reports, as well as operate plant and equipment such as dozers, excavators, vacuum trucks, winches, and HR trucks.

The ideal candidate will have HR Licence (preferred) & Construction White Card, experience leading plough crews in fibre installation (Optic Fibre Plough preferred), strong planning, communication & IT skills.

Ability to work remotely and live in a caravan when required is also essential.

Desirable tickets include Excavator, Dozer, Traffic Management, First Aid, Asbestos Awareness, High Risk Licence.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong planning, communication & IT skills
  • Ability to work remotely and live in a caravan when required
