Job Title: Transport Operations Manager

Our team is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our transport operations. As the Transport Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient management of transportation resources to deliver exceptional customer service.

  • Develop and implement effective rostering strategies to optimize fleet productivity.
  • Schedule, load plan, allocate, and route volume efficiently to meet business objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including HVNL regulations, fatigue management, mass management, and chain of responsibility.
  • Provide escalation support for all enquiries across the managed last mile network.
  • Ensure department KPI targets are met, including safety, financial targets, DIFOT, and NPS.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and transport providers to ensure performance to agreed levels.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, overseeing transport operations or allocation, preferably direct to customer deliveries.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to effectively coach and mentor teams.
  • A strong understanding of transport, logistics, or supply chain principles, including sound knowledge of CoR legislation.
  • Experience managing relationships and agreements with key suppliers, with the ability to negotiate and influence as needed.
  • Prior experience with the utilisation of a Vehicle Routing System.
  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to oversee P&L and costs centres.
